What we collect

• Account and profile information, such as email address, phone number, name, and notification preferences
• Billing information you add to your account, such as billing address details and labels you assign to saved addresses
• Authentication and access records, such as one-time code records, connection or access token records, and authorization records used to connect approved tools or agents
• Device registration information used to send app notifications, such as device push tokens and platform details
• Payment and activity information, such as allowance requests, approvals, denials, purchase attempt records, merchant information, amounts, status history, and related account activity
• Wallet and payment-setup information needed to support payment methods and temporary payment credentials, including setup identifiers and card metadata associated with your account
• Reservation tracking information you choose to provide, such as source URLs, date ranges, party size, time windows, tracker status, and match results
• Alfie conversations and files, including your messages, assistant responses, requested actions, and information retrieved from services you connect, as described below
• Waitlist information you submit on this website, including your email address

Alfie and your Google connections

You can choose to connect Gmail, Google Calendar, or both to Alfie, Allowance's personal assistant. We access the services you authorize to answer your questions and carry out your requests. Google shows the permissions requested when you connect.

• Gmail: message and thread content, senders, recipients, subjects, labels, draft content, and attachment information used to find and summarize emails, prepare and revise drafts, and send email on your behalf. Processing an existing draft can include its attachments.
• Google Calendar: your calendar list, event details such as titles, descriptions, times, locations and attendees, and availability information used to answer scheduling questions and create, change, delete, or respond to events.
• Connection information: your connected Google email address, granted permissions, and authorization tokens used to maintain the connection. We do not receive your Google password.

Relevant Google information is processed by our systems and OpenAI to understand your request, use the connected services, and generate Alfie's responses and files. Retrieved information and resulting content may be saved in your Alfie conversation history and files, including with our processing and storage providers. Alfie does not continuously synchronize a complete copy of your mailbox.

Your Alfie history can be available across the Allowance interfaces you use. If you use Alfie through a messaging service, the providers that deliver that service also process the messages and replies sent through it. Email recipients and calendar attendees receive the information you ask Alfie to send or share.

Limits on how we use Google data

Allowance's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy and the Google Workspace API User Data and Developer Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We use Google data, including content derived from it, to provide the Alfie features you choose to use. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending, or use it to train or improve general-purpose AI models. We do not permit our AI providers to use it to train or improve their models.

We share Google data only with your consent as needed to provide these features, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with your explicit prior consent. People may access it only with your explicit consent to view specific data, when necessary for security or legal compliance, or when it has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations as permitted by Google's policies. These restrictions also apply to our service providers and take precedence over broader use and sharing provisions elsewhere in this policy.

Disconnecting Google and deleting your data

You can disconnect Google in Settings → Connections, or revoke Allowance's access in your Google account settings. Disconnecting in Allowance stops subsequent Google access and removes the stored connection credentials. If you connected both Gmail and Calendar, disconnecting Google affects both. Requests already sent to Google may finish.

Disconnecting does not erase saved Alfie conversations or files. To delete Google-derived information retained by Alfie, delete your Allowance account. Account deletion removes your Alfie history and associated files, stored Google connection information, and saved Calendar change proposals, including retained copies held by our processing and storage providers. Contact support@useallowance.com if you need help deleting your account.

Deletion is a process rather than an instantaneous erasure of every copy. Limited records may be retained where required by law or necessary for security, and backup copies are removed through our backup-retention process. Retained data remains subject to the Google data-use restrictions above.

Disconnecting or deleting your Allowance account does not delete your original Gmail messages, drafts, sent emails, or Google Calendar events. Copies already delivered to recipients or saved in your own messaging apps remain subject to those services' controls.

Allowance Rewards browser extension

Allowance Rewards helps you compare the rewards on cards you already carry when you reach supported shopping or checkout pages. The extension stores the card product names you save locally in Chrome. To generate a recommendation, it sends those product names and limited merchant context to the Allowance Rewards API, including the merchant name or domain, a sanitized page URL, generic commerce signals, and, when displayed, an order total and currency.

We keep a completed recommendation in a shared cache for up to 24 hours so identical public research can be reused. We also process limited operational data, such as merchant domain, card count, model usage, and anonymous installation and tab identifiers, to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the extension.

Allowance Rewards does not collect card numbers, CVVs, bank logins, checkout form contents, cookies, names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, or browsing history. The extension does not require an Allowance account, sync saved cards across devices, or create an account history from the extension.

• To process allowance requests, approvals, payment controls, wallet setup, and related transaction flows
• To send transactional email, SMS, push notifications, and other account or activity messages
• To support connected agents, authorized integrations, and access methods you choose to enable
• To operate reservation tracking and related notification features
• To compare saved card products with a merchant purchase context and return an Allowance Rewards recommendation
• To detect misuse, reduce fraud and abuse, troubleshoot issues, and comply with law
• To operate, support, and improve the service

How we share information

We do not sell personal data. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the product, including services that support payments, wallet setup, temporary credentials, communications, authentication, AI processing, cloud or infrastructure operations, and reservation tracking or related features. We may also share information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, or similar transaction. Google data is subject to the more specific limits above.

Transactional email, SMS, and push notifications

If you provide contact information or register a device, you agree to receive transactional messages related to sign-in, verification, account security, allowance activity, and other service operations. These communications are not marketing.

For SMS, message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe from SMS and HELP for help. If you opt out of SMS, some account or activity alerts may no longer be available by text.

Waitlist submissions

If you join the waitlist on this website, your email address is submitted through a third-party form processor so we can contact you about access to Allowance.

Your choices and account updates

You can request access, correction, or deletion of certain account information by emailing support@useallowance.com, subject to legal, security, and operational limits. You can also update certain profile, billing, and notification settings from the product when those controls are available.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date on this page and provide additional notice through the service when appropriate.
