Can I create a one-time card with my Apple Card?

Yes. Create a separate card number in Allowance for an online purchase. It uses your Apple Card while keeping its real number private.

Do I still earn Apple Card rewards?

Yes. The purchase is charged to your Apple Card, so you keep the rewards you would normally earn.

Can I set a spending limit?

Yes. Set the maximum amount the card can be charged. A card with a $50 limit cannot be charged for more than $50.

Can I lock a one-time card to a merchant?

Yes. Lock the card to the merchant you intend to pay, so it cannot be used somewhere else.

What does the merchant see?

The merchant sees the separate one-time card number, never the number on your Apple Card.

What if a merchant stores the number?

It cannot be used for another purchase after its first successful charge. If you never use it, it expires by default after 24 hours.

How long does a one-time card last?

By default, a one-time card expires 24 hours after you create it. If you use it first, it cannot be used again.

Do I need a Social Security number or date of birth to create a One-Time Card?

No. Creating an Allowance account and using One-Time Cards does not require a Social Security number or date of birth.
