Do I still earn Capital One Venture X rewards?
Yes. Eligible purchases earn 10X miles on hotels and rental cars, and 5X miles on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel. All other purchases earn 2X miles.

Yes. Set the maximum amount the card can be charged. A card with a $50 limit cannot be charged for more than $50.
Can I lock a one-time card to a merchant?
Yes. Lock the card to the merchant you intend to pay, so it cannot be used somewhere else.
Is this a virtual card for Capital One Venture X?
Yes. Allowance generates a separate virtual card number for a purchase. It is charged to your linked Capital One Venture X card, while its real number stays private.
What does the merchant see?
The merchant sees the separate one-time card number, never the number on your Capital One Venture X card.
What if a merchant stores the number?
It cannot be used for another purchase after its first successful charge. If you never use it, it expires by default after 24 hours.
How long does a one-time card last?
By default, a one-time card expires 24 hours after you create it. If you use it first, it cannot be used again.
Do I need a Social Security number or date of birth to create a One-Time Card?
No. Creating an Allowance account and using One-Time Cards does not require a Social Security number or date of birth.
